In a recent interview featured in Running Magazine, Elia Ferranti, brand manager of Fessura, shared the exciting new directions the Italian brand is taking. Founded on the ingenuity of Botticelli’s descendants, Fessura has seamlessly combined tradition, innovation, and a deep connection to the Marche region, establishing itself as a key player in the fashion-sport segment. Now, with the launch of the Fessura Trail Team and the “GSR – Great Sibillini Ring” line, the company is poised for an ambitious leap forward.
Innovation Rooted in the Territory
“Our goal is to grow in the performance segment and build credibility by developing increasingly high-performing lines for athletes,” Ferranti explained in the interview. The Trail Team project goes beyond technical footwear, such as the new GSR line, aiming to also showcase the stunning natural beauty of the Sibillini Mountains, the heart of the brand. This initiative represents a unique synergy between sport and territory, culminating in the inaugural ultra-trail event in Marche, the Fessura Great Sibillini Ring, planned for 2026.
A New Era of Performance
The GSR line, recently unveiled at ISPO in Munich, has been designed for the most demanding athletes: lightweight (240g), equipped with cutting-edge technologies like Slot Technology, and featuring a +GRIP sole for top performance. But there’s more. “We want to take the fusion of fashion and sport to the next level,” Ferranti emphasized. The elegant design and functional features appeal not only to sports enthusiasts but also to fashion-forward individuals.
The Fessura Trail Team: Brand Ambassadors
The Trail Team, composed of athletes from the Marche region, will take center stage at major national competitions such as UTMB Chianti and LUT Cortina, aiming to elevate the brand’s visibility. Behind the team lies a well-structured plan involving trainers, athletic coaches, and targeted communication strategies. Ferranti explains: “We’ll narrate the team’s story, from preparation to race day, engaging the audience with events and product testing.”
Looking Ahead: Sport, Nature, and Tourism
With the GSR project, Fessura isn’t just targeting the footwear market. “We believe quality of life is essential,” Ferranti added. By leveraging the natural beauty of the Marche region, the brand hopes to attract athletes and enthusiasts from around the globe, boosting local tourism. The ultimate goal? To make the Sibillini Mountains a landmark for sport and well-being, welcoming “top northern athletes” to these captivating landscapes.
Fessura proves to be a brand that sees beyond the product, transforming a shoe into a symbol of innovation and cultural connection. The future of Italian trail running now has a new home, and that home is Fessura.
